White Tiger Qigong review
I decided to train Qigong with White Tiger Qigong School and its founder Tevia Feng at Tao-Garden in Thailand. Over the course of one week I enrolled in the 5 Animal Qigong Training which is a form of the Daoist spiritual, medical Qi gong. This is a more dynamic form of Qi gong but also has primoridial breathing and stillness elements to it.
For me this course was a rich experience to learn from nature and see the Qualities of the different Animals. It was a very grounding and gentle approach. To really face my other side the one week was maybe also not long enough, but I also learned ways to potentially go deeper and to be very present.
The teacher & founder of White Tiger Qigong, the American – Tevia Feng is practicing Qi gong since he is 7 years old and he learned it from Masters in China and also promotes this ancient heritage. The experience was therefore definitely real & authentic. He was also a very good & positive teacher and capable to pass down the concepts to us in a very practical way that made us learn. He also knew how to lead and control this rather large group and to hold the space (≈ 40 people). His main focus was on combining the eastern ancient intuitive wisdom with research from western modern sport science. As you know I am believer in not condemning one side but in balancing the two, so I really liked this approach. I also believe that this program is great for people who consider themselves still rather rational sided. However, on the flip side Tevia is not an old, super sensitive, egoless Qi gong Guru overflowing with intuitive wisdom. If you are solely searching to face the other side and want to go as deep as possible, this may not be the right experience for you.
In terms of integration I feel there could’ve been a few more sharing circles, or ways to check in with the participants processes & feelings but the absence of it was nothing apparently negative because Qi gong is anyways quite gentle itself.
The container and the place Tao – Garden is super beautifully situated in the nature in the North of Thailand. It is Mantak Chias healing center with an own clinic and all sorts of different transformative possibilities like a Darkroom which experience and review you can read here: The food, the place and the vibes I can highly recommend and were very supportive to the course. Accommodation is not cheap though, what I recommend you is to write them beforehand and ask for their MC Guestrooms. Thats what I did and its a fraction of the cost of their normal rooms. Another even more budget way is to stay outside the healing center. Other participants were from all sorts of different backgrounds and cultures which made it a very beautiful and inspiring container. For me this week was a nice way to integrate & process. I learned a powerful & gentle bodywork that is more like a Body, Mind an Spirit work and will therefore surely be beneficial for my whole life. Therefore, I can definitely recommend White Tiger Qigong.
