Paititi Institute review:
I volunteered at Paititi Institute as a service team member to support their Embodying true nature transformation retreat at the edge of the Amazonian rainforest. In these 7 weeks my tasks were to support the flow of the retreat in different ways. From cooking meals for the participants, to harvesting the vegetable gardens and participating in sacred plant ceremonies. For me this retreat was an absolute Game Changer. So far it was for me the most incredible place for transformation that I have ever been to.
They were so generous and loving there that even as a service team member I was allowed to take part in many ceremonies, teachings and healings. The result was that I went on a deep healing journey myself. I firmly believe either way as a volunteer/service team member or as a participant this transformation retreat is a Game Changer and I couldn’t recommend it more! But let’s examine why that is the case…
The teacher or leading Shaman is Roman a russian guy who ventured into the Amazon 15 years ago. During the last 15 years he then lived with different tribal linages of medicine men and learned everything about sacred plant medicine & authentic shamanic healing. He now is the wisdom holder of this ancient knowledge and acts like an intercultural bridge to the western world. And he is outstanding. I could barely see any left Ego and his teachings combine ancient traditional healing disciplines from different linages without westernizing them or destroying their true essence. He is one of those teachers you just want to listen to for hours and seek their opinion on every aspect of life.
The reason why the Paititi Container is such a great place is also because it is like a pressure cooker for your other side. You
don’t have any chance to escape. I lived in a tent for 7 weeks. We harvested our own food there. It’s in the middle of nowhere 4 hours away from the next civilization. In fact I didn’t see a car in 7 weeks and not even a single airplane in the sky. So you can’t distract yourself. This whole combination also attracts certain types of people that were among the most inspiring people I have ever met in my life. Moreover it’s this unique combination of ancient healing modalities. Paititi combines not only sacred plant ceremonies like Coca, Ayahuasca and San Pedro but it also blends them together with Dreamwork, Breathwork, Qigong, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tibetan teachings & Meditation. Alongside with continuous deep integration work and sharing circles this creates an outstanding healing container I’ve never found anywhere else so far. It’s still hard for me to put into words all the incredible things that happened at Paititi Institute. What I can say is: It was an amazing transformational journey and I faced so much of my other side, which I am infinitely grateful for but it was also super intense. My advise for you is to only go there if you are really willing and feel ready to fully face yourself. You should also have already build up a foundation of your other side to build upon. But trust your intuition & fear as a guidance.
As an HSP I found it as a service Team member sometimes very intense. I went through a deep healing but I also had quite an intense workload. On top of that I felt that a tent as my only private spot is also not the best place to spent too much time in especially when it gets hot. So I often really craved a room to withdraw to. Not because of the luxury a room provides but just to get some self- and down time to integrate. There were definitely times my mind thought I couldn’t take anymore.
But I am also super grateful for that because I learned so much through that. I had to use all my little tricks and techniques to cope with it and it also made it very clear for me that it is so important what kind of work you are doing. Being in service and having a higher purpose helped me so much to empower me and fuel me with Energy. The whole thing made me see that I can actually handle a lot more stimulation than my mind was telling me. That I am a lot more capable to be active in the world than I thought I am. And the people at Paititi were just so caring, compassionate and loving.
It’s a very fine line because I believe it is exactly at this edge of your comfort zone where you really grow. And it is also the closest situation to your real life, where you also have to do your work and get your shit done, but it’s definitely learning the intense way and not for everyone. Especially if you don’t have a solid foundation of facing your other side of handling stimulation I recommend you to rather join this incredible place as a participant.
As a participant you have plenty of self-time to integrate, journal, meditate or whatever you want to do. But I am also not saying that it is the easier experience. You have way more plant ceremonies, teachings and healings, which is definitely very intense too.
Either way this place is nothing but outstanding and I highly recommend it if you want to truly face your other side!
